1 Chronicles26:10
10 Also Hosah of the children of Merari, had sons; Simri the chief, (for though he was not the first-born, yet his father made him the chief .)
Taking away the Birth-right from the First-born either absolutely, for some gross Miscarriage, as Gen. 49. 4. or onely in this [illegible: 1+ letters]espect, because he wanted either Strength or Valour, or some other Qualification necessary for his Office.
