1 John2:6
6 He that saith he abideth in him, ought also so to walk, even as he walked .
And this Proof we ought to give. For whereas our Lord Jesus Christ was not only our Lawgiver but our Patern; and practised himself what he commanded us; if indeed we have an abiding, real Vnion with him, we partake of his Spirit, Rom. 8.9. which must be understood to work Uniformly, and enable us to walk (in the main of our Course, according to our measure of that Spirit) as he walked.
