1 John5:5
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God ?
For that Faith, viz. that Iesus is the Son of God, (or the Christ, as v. 1.) fills the Soul with so great things concerning him, and the Design of his coming among us, and what we are to expect thereupon, as easily turn this World into a contemptible Shadow, and deprive it of all its former Power over us.
