1 Peter4:5
5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead .
Of their evil-speaking as well as of other Sins, Iude 15. It is a Metaphor taken from Stewards giving account to their Masters, Matth. 18.23. Luke 16.2.
Not only prepared for it, but at hand to do it, Iames 5.9.
Those that shall be alive at Christ's coming, and those that died before, but then shall be raised, and brought to Judgment. Hereby he intimates, for their Comfort, that tho their Enemies, and ill-Willers might out-live them, yet they shall not escape God's Judgment.
