1 Samuel26:6
6 Then answered David, and said to Ahimelech the Hittite , and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah , brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with thee.
So called, either because he was one of that Nation, but Converted to the Iewish Religion: Compare 2 Sam. 11. 3. and 15. 18. Or, from his Habitation amongst, or some Relation to some of that People.
David's Sister: See 1 Chron. 2. 16. His Father is not named; either because he was now dead; or because he was an obscure person.
