1 Samuel28:15

15 ¶ And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me to bring me up ? And Saul answered, I am fore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams : therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

As the Devil appeared in Samuel's Shape and Garb, so also he speaketh in his Petson, that he might [illegible: 1 word] Saul, and encourage others to seek to him in this wicked way. And God permits him to do so for Saul's greater condemnation and punishment.

He omitteth the U[illegible: 1+ letters]im here, because he neither did nor could enquire by that, because Abiathar had carried it away to David, and so he expected no answer that way.
