1 Timothy5:20
20 Them that sin rebuke before all , that others also may fear .
That is, that sin publickly, and scandalously so as others have taken notice of it.
Rebuke, not privately by a ministerial correption, but by a publick Ecclesiastical correption before the whole Church.
That the salve may answer the sore, and the plaister be as broad as the wound, and that others may be afraid to do the like, this end of the punishment agreeth with that mentioned, Deut. 13.11.
