2 Corinthians5:9
9 Wherefore we labour, that whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him .
Having such an hope, yea not such an hope only, but such an assurance and confidence, we labour, both Actively, doing the Will of God, and Passively, submitting to the Will of God in all afflictive Providences; that while we are in the body, and absent from the Lord, we may be accepted of him; as we know we shall be, when we shall be present with him, in another sense than we now are.
Marginal references: Or, we endeavour.
