3 For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves :
Two things the Apostle commendeth in the Charity of the Churches of Macedonia: First, the Quantity of their Gift, which, he saith, was to their power, yea, (on his knowledge) beyond what they were able. Secondly, their Freedom in the Action; so as they did not need the Apostles Exhortations and Arguments, but did it of themselves freely and cheerfully.
