Acts10:37

37 The word I say you know, which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee , after the baptism which John preached.

They had heard of the Doctrine of the Gospel by common fame and report, (which could not but spread abroad) all might know that Christ and his Apostles did Preach, tho these might be ignorant of the particular Doctrines which they taught, and which Peter was now sent to instruct them in; or by the word, (in an usual hebraism) the matter of the Gospel may be meaned, as the Life, Death, and Resurrection of our blessed Saviour, which they could not but have heard several reports of:

Who, as the Elijah which was promised, Malachi 4.5. was the forerunner of the Lord.

Marginal references: Luke 4.14.
