Acts13:36
36 For David after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:
Some point these words otherwise, reading them thus; David after he had served his generation, by the will of God fell asleep. Which contains indeed a truth, viz. that God hath appointed every ones time in the world, and that the issue of life and death are his; but thus they would prove little to Davids praise; for who dies otherwise, but according to the determinate counsel of God? But this is remembred to Davids glory, that according to the will of God, he was a publick good, and he liv'd and govern'd by the rule and square of Gods word.
Notwithstanding which he fell asleep, and saw death; but such as did not deserve so terrible a name.
Buried amongst his Ancestors.
And his body corrupted as theirs; now this verse explains the former, and draws the argument home, in that it proves, that the words before mentioned, could not be meant of David; but of one that he typified, and represented.
