19 ¶ And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the market-place, unto the rulers.

For she was a servant, or slave; and being very advantageous, might have many that had a share in h[illegible: 1 letter]r.

The profit could not but be considerable, for they were to come with the rewards of divination in their hands; as they did to Balaam, Numb. 22.7.
