Acts16:29

29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas;

Or lights, which Prisons are not usually without.

What a suddain and great change can God make? He comes trembling to those feet which he had put into the Stocks so lately.

By which he would only give a civil respect unto them, it being an ordinary Rite amongst the Eastern Nations (as endless Examples in Scripture-witness) to pay their Respects: and from them it spread its self into Greece: which Respect Paul and Silas do not refuse, because it was barely civil, and did shew the humility and brokenness of the Jaylors heart. Yet Peter would not accept of the like from Cornelius, Chap. 10.25, 26. because it was more than a bare civil Respect which Cornelius would have given him.
