28 And founded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they [illegible: 1 letter]ounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
A Fathom is the distance betwixt the end of the middle finger in the one hand, from the end of the middle finger on the other hand, when the Arms are stretched out; which is ordinarily accounted about six feet in measure.
Coming into more shallow places they might reasonably conclude that they were near unto the Land.
