Daniel10:6
6 His body also was like the beryl , and his face as the appearance of lightning , and his eyes as lamps of fire , and his arms and his [illegible: 1 letter]eet like in colour to polished brass , and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude .
Which is of a Sea colour, others translate it, the Chryso [illegible: 1 letter]ite, others the Jacinth, the word in the Text [non-Latin text not transcribed] like the Tarsis, this is a colour like the sea; the Beryl, which is Azure, and like the Heavens, shew Christ to be immortal and glorious, the Lord from Heaven heavenly, 1 Cor. 15.47. See Ezek. 1.16. and 10.9. and 28.13.
His face as the lightning quickens to succour his Saints and terrifie his Enemies, Matth. 24.27. and 28.3. Rev. 4.5.
His eyes like lamps of Fire, signifie Omniscience, Splendor, and Terror in Christ.
Note his incredible power and swiftness to defend or to destroy invincibly.
By this the Lord would distinguish the Lord Christ from Creatures, and when he comes with a noise and a sound, to shew the grandeur and terrour of his Presence. And thus his Presence is wont to be ushered in before the Revelation of great things, Ezek. 1.24. and 43.2. Act. 2.2. Rev. 1.10, 15. and 14.2, and 19.1. By the example of Moses, Isaiah, Ieremiah and the Apostles, noting also the mighty power of Christ to tear.
