Ecclesiastes2:24
24 There is nothing better for a man , than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in all his labour. This also I saw that it was from the hand of God .
Or, Is there any thing better for a man? Which implies that there is nothing better, to wit, for mans present comfort and satisfaction; this is the chief, and indeed the only considerable benefit of his labours.
That he should thankfully take, and freely and chearfully enjoy the comforts which God gives him.
That this also is a singular gift of God, and not to be procured by a mans own Wisdom or Diligence.
