24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing .
Viz. with cheerfulness, chastity, humility, obedience, &c.
In imitation of the Churches subjection to Christ as a pattern of their subjection to their Husbands.
Understand, to which the authority of the Husband extends it self.
