Ezekiel44:12
12 Because they ministred unto them before their Idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lift up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity .
Acted, as Priests to Idols, and in the name of Idolatrous Worshippers, sacrificed to the Idols.
Were first occasion of fall to some, when their Example was follow'd, and in after times they seduced, perswaded, and urged them to serve their Idols, and sacrifice to them for this was the gain of the Idol Priests.
Sworn against them, that they shall suffer for this their Iniquity. This lifting up the hand is the form of an Oath, Exod. 6.8. Deut. 32.40. chap. 20.5. let. r.
The punishment of this Sin, so 'tis chap. 14.10. and chap. 18.19, 20. and 23.35, 49.
