29 And if ye be Christs , then are you Abrahams seed , and heirs according to the promise u.

Lest these Galatians should be discouraged, because the promise was made to Abraham and his seed, and they were not the s[illegible: 1 letter]ed of Abraham; he tells them, if they were Christs, that is, if they truly believed in him, and were implanted into him, That

then they were the seed of Abraham; that seed, to which the promise was made; and though not heirs of Abraham according to the flesh, yet heirs according to the promise; vid. Rom. 9.7, 8.
