4. ¶ These are the Generations of the Heavens, and of the Earth, when they were Created, in the day that the LORD God made the Earth and the Heavens.

i. e. These things mentioned in the 1. chap.

i. e. A true and full relation of their Generations, i. e. Of their Original, or Beginnings.

Not strictly so called but largely taken for the time, as it is v. 17. Ruth 4. 5. Luk. 19. 42. 2 Cor. 6. 2.
