Matthew Poole and continuators on Isaiah 29:3

3. And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.

By those Enemies whom I will assist, and enable to Destroy thee. This was fulfilled, Either 1. by Sennacherib, as some Learned Men think. But what is here affirmed of these Enemies, is expresly denied concerning Sennacherib, Isa. 37. 33. or rather 2. by the Chaldeans, 2 Kings 25. 1. &c.

Marginal references: Or, with an army.; Or, with a setled camp, or leaguer.
