Jeremiah13:18

18 Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble your selves , sit down; for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory .

The Author of holy Writ is discernable by this as by other things, that the Scripture equally speaks to greatest persons, as to persons of meaner rank. God here calls to the King of Judah, whether it was at this time Jehojakim or his Son Jehoiakin, is uncertain.

By Principalities he means both their dignity, and their liberty that which he often calleth the Crown of their glory. Some expound it head-tyres, because the word deriveth from a word which signifies the head.

Marginal references: Or, your head tires.
