Matthew Poole and continuators on Jeremiah 2:4

4 Hear ye the word of the LORD , O house of Jacob , and all the families of the house of Israel.

He bespeaks their attention to what he is about to speak, as unto the word of the Lord, telling them, that he delivers Gods message, and vents not his own passions, the like, Isa. 1.10. and elsewhere frequently, both in the Old, and New Testament, as 1 Cor. 11.23. 1 Thess. 4.15.

i. e. His posterity, Iacob and Israel here being the same, as it is Isa. 43.1.
