Jeremiah26:15
15 But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon your selves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof : for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you, to speak all these words in your ears .
If you make this sedition, and put me to death for it, you have a natural power to do it, but you will get nothing by it, but further bring down the Vengeance of God upon you by shedding my blood without a cause, the guilt of which will be added to your other guilt, and lie upon you, and upon your City.
For you may think, and talk what you please, it is a certain truth, that I spake nothing out of any evil design, nor of my own head; but onely what the Lord sent me to speak.
