Jeremiah39:5
5 But the Chaldeans army pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him .
Thus God by his Providence fulfilled his threatning by hi[illegible: 1 letter] Prophet [illegible: 1 span] 17.12. Ribl[illegible: 2 letters] was upon the borders of [illegible: 1 word] as appeareth from N[illegible: 2 letters]. 34.11. it was in the land of [illegible: 1 word] of which we read 2 Ki[illegible: 1 letter]g. 17.24. being one of those Provinces in the dominion of the King of Ass[illegible: 2 letters]ia, from whence he brought m[illegible: 1 letter]n to place th[illegible: 1 letter]m in the land of Israel after that he had conquered the ten Tribes. It is not usual for Princes upon Conq[illegible: 1 letter]ests [illegible: 1 letter]o sit in judgment upon Princes conquered, but the reas[illegible: 1 letter]n of it in this case was because Ze[illegible: 1 letter]ekiah, was a Tributary to the king of Bab[illegible: 2 letters]on, and so subject to his power, having made a Covenant with him, and secured his Allegiance by his Oath to him, and then rebelled against him, as we read, Ez[illegible: 1 letter]k. 17.13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.
Marginal references: Heb. spake with him j[illegible: 1 letter]dgments.
