John19:26
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved , he saith unto his mother, VVoman, behold thy son .
We [illegible: 1 word] often heard that Iohn was the beloved Disciple, and u[illegible: 2 letters]ally expressed under the Notion of him whom Jesus loved▪
Our Lord commendeth his Mother to the care of Iohn, whom he had ordered to take care of her, as if he had been her own Son▪ this letteth us know, that Ioseph was at [illegible: 1 letter]his time dead, otherwise, it is not probable, that Christ would have committed his Mother to any other Guardian.
