24 ¶ And Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, That ye would give me every man the ear-rings of his prey, (for they had golden ear-rings, because they were Ishmaelites .)

Obj. They are called Midianites before. Ans. Here seems to have been a mixture of People, Iudg. 6. 3. which are all called by one general name, Ishmaelites, or Arabians, who used to wear Ear-rings, Gen. 35. 4. but the greatest, and the ruling part of them were Midianites.
