Leviticus19:16
16 Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
Who makes it his business to go up and down from one to another, and divulge evil and false reports concerning others, which though many times it proceeds onely from levity and talkativeness, yet apparently tends to the great injury of our neighbour. See Prov. 11. 13. Ier. 6. 28. and 9. 4.
To wit, in judgement as a false accuser or false witness: For accusers and witness use to stand, whilst the Judges sate, in Courts of Judicature.
