Matthew6:15
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
Not that our meer forgiving our Brethren the Injuries done unto us, is all that God requireth of us in Order to the Forgiveness we expect from him, the contrary is plain from several other Texts, Io. 3.18.36. Acts 2.38. & 16.31. &c. but that without this Forgiveness of our Brethren, God will not forgive us, Mat. 18.35. It is one piece of that Obedience which we owe to God, and also of our Gratitude without the performance of which it is vain for us to hope for forgiveness from God.
