Matthew Poole and continuators on Micah 3:9

9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment , and pervert all equity .

Whereas judgment should be their great delight, as it is of every good Magistrate; these had hearts that detested it, were weary of the directions of Gods Law in their Polity, and hated to be controuled by it.

Where you can, you wrest the Law to countenance your unequal proceedings, and wrong those you should right, and acquit those you should condemn. And there is many a wo denounced against such.

This Verse is word for word the same in the former part of it, with the former part of the first verse of this Chapter; we refer thither for explication of it. The Prophet having asserted his Divine Call and avowed his Faithfulness in the Prophetick Office, ver. 8. he here gives us one more proof of it dealing roundly with the Magistrates in both Kingdoms, Israel and Iudah.
