Numbers22:18

18 And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, if Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God , to do less or more.

You desire and expect that from me which is out of my power, to resist the will of the great God. He slily insinuates, that he wanted not will, but power onely.

So he calls him, partly to magnifie himself as the servant of the great [illegible: 1 word]; partly that by prosessing this respect unto God he might the sooner induce him to grant his desire; and partly because he worshipped the true God together with Idols, as many in those times and places did.
