Psalms89:20
20 I have found David my servant: with my holy oyl have I anointed him.
This is spoken of God figuratively after the manner of men, to imply the great scarcity of such persons, and the difficulty of finding them out.
Both with material oyl, 1 Sam. 16. 13. 2 Sam. 5. 3. and with the gifts and graces of my holy Spirit, which are oft signified by oyl or unction, as Psal. 45. 8. compared with Heb. 1. 9. Isai. 61. 3. 1 Ioh. 2. 20, 27.
Marginal references: [illegible: 1 word] 16. [illegible: 1+ letters].
