19 And the great city was divided into three parts , and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath .

Rome, afterwards called great Babylon in this Verse.

The Pagan part, the Evangelical part, and the Antichristian part (saith Dr. Moor) the three Parties that made up the Armies that fought in Armageddon: Or else this is added as the Effect of the great Earthquake.

God now took Vengeance on the Papacy, and all their Adherents, tho he had for 1260 years spared them, notwithstanding their Idolatries and Persecutions, and behaved himself toward them, as if he had forgot them.
