Psalms59:10
God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies. The words, my desire, are not in the original, and would be better omitted. The sense is —God will enable me to look down calmly upon my enemies. So Christ looked upon his murderers. So Stephen was enabled to do when they "gnashed upon him with their teeth." "All that sat in the council looking steadfastly upon him saw his face as it had been the face of an angel." Ac 6:15. Christopher Wordsworth.
