John Trapp on Daniel 7:16

Ver. 16. I came near unto one of them that ſtood by] i. e. To one of the holy Angels, as ver. 10. Let us have recourſe in like caſe, to Chriſts Miniſters, who are called Angels of the Churches: like as Angels, by a like change of name, are called miniſtring Spirits, Heb. 1.14. The Preaching of the Goſpel is taken from the Angels, Luk. 2.10. and given to the Miniſters: hence Paul was ſent to Ananias for further direction, Act. 9. and Cornelius to Peter, Act. 10.

And asked him the truth] i. e. The thing hereby ſignified. See Joh. 1.17. & 14.7. holy minds are induſtrious after knowledge.
