Ver. 21. In the twelfth year] Some read the eleventh year: and indeed it was wonder that ſuch ill news came no ſooner; for [non-Latin text not transcribed], ſaith Sophocles.
Superſtes ſtragis. That one that had eſcaped] This God had promiſed, chap. 24.26.
The City is ſmitten] i. e. Sacked and burnt. This man ſpoke much in few.
