Isaiah13:11
Ver. 11. And I will puniſh the world] That is, the Chaldean State:Dan. 4.17. for they reckoned themſelves [non-Latin text not transcribed] or Lords of the world. See on ver. 5. Or to ſhew that if the whole world ſhould conſpire againſt the Lord, he can as eaſily puniſh them, as he did that rabble of Rebels the old world.
And lay low the haughtineſs of the terrible] Or, of the royſters, or Tyrants.
