Oecolamp. he that is the enemy took the City: hoc enim ſignificat nudari operimentum, i. e. protectionem Judae; Or, as others ſence it, God took away his Protection, the Rampire and Defence of their Countrey. See Exod. 32.25. Numb. 14.9. Mic. 1.11. Or the enemy deſtroyed the Temple wherein the Jews ſo fooliſhly confided, Jer. 7.
To the armour of the houſe] To any thing but whom they ſhould have looked unto. Our hearts are top-full of harlotry, ready to ſhift and ſhark in every by-corner for comfort: to hang their hopes on every hedge rather then to roll themſelves upon God the hope of Iſrael.
