Isaiah27:11
Ver. 11. For it is a people of no underſtanding] Heb. Not a people of underſtandings, i. e. non ſapiunt niſi plagis emendentur, they will not be wiſe without whipping: I muſt therefore handle them the more ſharply and ſeverely. Caſtigat Deus quem amat, etiamſi non amat caſtigare.
Therefore he that made them] Deus factor ejus & fictor. A fearful ſentence: ſuch as ſhould affright thoſe many Ignaro's that ſay, God that made us will ſurely ſave us.
