Isaiah42:13
Ver. 13. The Lord ſhall go forth as a mighty man] Or, as a Gyant. And here by an elegant Hypotypoſis, the fierce wrath of God againſt his foes is ſet forth to the life: and appointed alſo to be ſung for a ſecond part of the ditty; viz. Chriſts conqueſt over ſin, death and hell; whereby we are made more than Conquerours.
He ſhall cry, yea roar] Jubilabit atque etiam barriet, he ſhall make an hideous and horrible noiſe: ſuch as the Roman ſouldiers did of old when they began the battle;Vegerius. and as the Turks do at this day, on purpoſe to affright their enemies.
