Ver. 30. Like the roaring of the ſea] The noyſe whereof is ſo hideous, that the ſhreiking of the Devil is ſet forth by it, Jam. 2.19. See the Note there.

And if one look into the land] Or, to the earth below, behold darkneſs, &c. as if to the Heavens, the light alſo there is darkned. Man cannot help them, God will not. To ſuch ſtraits of an evil, an only evil, are ſuch oft brought, as think themſelves out of the reach of Gods Rod. Vae victis.
