Ver. 19. And I will ſet a ſign among them] This ſign may very well be that viſible pouring out of the gifts of the Holy Ghoſt on the day of Pentecoſt, under the ſymbol of wind and fire,Scultet. Act. 2. together with the ſignes and wonders whereby the Apoſtles doctrine was confirmed. Others make this ſigne to be the Profeſſion of the Chriſtian faith. Some alſo, the Doctrine of the Goſpel, and eſpecially the Sacraments.

And I will ſend thoſe that eſcape of them] i. e. The Apoſtles and their fellow-helpers; ſuch as were Barnabas, Silas, Lucas, &c.

That draw the bow] The Moſches or Moſcovites, ſay the Septuagint: the Turkes, ſaith one of the Rabbines. See the Notes on Rev. 9.15, 16, 17.
