Ver. 17. I ſat not in the aſſembly of the mockers] That ſcoffed and mocked at Gods meſſages and menaces. Or, I have not ſat in the aſſembly of thoſe that make merry; ſed ſerius fui, ſpiranſque compunctionem, I came not at feaſts and merry-meetings, ſince I became a Prophet.
I ſat alone] As Moſes in like caſe did, Exod. 33.7.
