Ver. 20. Surely as a treacherous wife, &c.) This ye have done, but that's your preſent grief, and now you look upon your former diſloyalties with a lively hatred of them: holding that the time paſt of your life may ſuffice to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, &c. 1 Pet. 4.3.
