Ver. 31. From the day that they built it] Ever ſince Solomon beautified it, and made it the Metropolis. Nevertheleſſe Hegeſippus was out, in ſaying that Jeruſalem was ſo called quaſi [non-Latin text not transcribed]. Solomon made it famous by his magnificence; but odious, by his idolatry there.
