Jeremiah36:26
Ver. 26. But the King commanded Jerameel the ſon of Hammelech] Or the Kings ſon, whom he might employ againſt theſe two ſervants of God: as once the King of France ſent his ſon and heir with an Army againſt the Waldenſes. It is not for nothing therefore that the curſe is denounced againſt Jehojakim and his poſterity, ver. 30, 31.
But the Lord hid them] i. e. He provided for them a hiding place in ſome good mans houſe; and there ſafe guarded them from theſe blood-hounds who hunted after their precious lives. There in no fence but flight, nor counſel but concealement, to ſecure an innocent ſubject againſt an enraged Soveraign.
