CHAP. XLIV.
Ver. 1. THe Word that came to Jeremiah] No word of comfort (how could it be, ſo long as they lived in open rebellion againſt the Lord?) but all of reproof and threatning: for why? they were obdurate and obſtinate, and did dayly proficere in pejus, grow worſe and worſe.
Which dwell at Migdol] To theſe chief Cities Jeremiah reſorted, to ſpeak unto them. Noph, alias Moph, Hoſ. 9.6. is held to be Memphis, now Alcair.
