Job11:16
Verſe 16. Becauſe thou ſhalt forget thy miſery] There being no fear left, or foot ſtep thereof remaining to renew thy grief, Gen. 41.30. Remember thy former trouble thou ſhalt, with thankfulneſſe for a better condition now, but no otherwiſe: all the marks of former affliction ſhall be worn out. See Iſa. 65.16.13. ſo that thou ſhalt diſcount all the evil thou haſt endured.
And remember it as waters that paſſe away] As a land-flood, ſoon gone, as a light cloud quickly over: or as Noahs flood which that good man thought upon: when it was paſt, with thankfulneſſe to God, offering ſacrifice for his ſafety. So ſhalt thou Job: and as a man ſeldome thinketh how much water paſſeth by his habitation by day and by night; or if he do; yet its no trouble to his mind, no more ſhall the remembrance of by-paſt miſeries be to thine.
