CHAP. XVIII.
THis was the Town-dirch, 2 Chron. 30.14. and had it's name from it's darkneſſe or muddineſſe: for it received the baggage, as a common ſinke. Not farre from hence was the valley of Hinnom, wherein there was kept a continuall fire for the burning of dead carcaſes and other garbadge, as Kimchi notes upon Pſal. 27. Hence hell is called, Gehenna.
