Verſe 23. Many beleeved.] Fides fuit minimè fida, quippe hiſtoricae, ex miraculis nata. Theſe thought they had layd hold on Chriſt: but they did but as Children, that thinke they catch the ſhadow on the wall. Ther's a great deal of this falſe faith abroad. The ſorcerers ſeemed to do as much as Moſes.
